Tripura Flood Forecasting Systems (India)
Jomiso designed and implemented a state-of-the-art
Flood Forecasting and Early Warning System for the state of
Tripura under the World Bank-funded National Hydrology Project.
The project aimed to protect more than 500,000 residents from recurrent floods
through predictive modelling, real-time data integration, and timely dissemination of alerts.
The system integrates a network of automated hydrological and meteorological sensors
for continuous data collection, coupled with advanced hydrological-hydraulic forecasting models.
These models simulate river flow behavior, rainfall-runoff responses, and inundation patterns to provide
accurate short- and medium-term flood forecasts.
Jomiso also developed a dedicated web-based dashboard and
mobile application to visualize real-time data, forecast updates, and emergency alerts.
The platform enables faster decision-making by authorities, improving community preparedness
and reducing loss of life and property.
Project Type: Flood Forecasting & Early Warning System
