Ranjit Sagar Dam Forecasting (India)
Jomiso developed a comprehensive inflow forecasting and reservoir operation model
for the Ranjit Sagar Dam — a critical water infrastructure supporting irrigation, power generation,
and flood regulation across multiple states. The project was executed under the
World Bank-funded National Hydrology Project with the objective of improving
water management efficiency and enhancing flood preparedness.
The system integrates hydrological, meteorological, and reservoir operation datasets
to simulate inflows, predict variations in storage levels, and optimize outflows in real time.
By incorporating advanced forecasting algorithms and a dynamic reservoir rule curve,
the model provides decision-makers with actionable insights for effective reservoir management.
Jomiso also designed a Reservoir Optimization Tool to assist engineers in balancing
irrigation demands, flood control, and hydropower generation, ensuring both safety and sustainability.
