Ranjit Sagar Dam – Emergency Action Plan (India)

Jomiso prepared a comprehensive Emergency Action Plan (EAP) for the Ranjit Sagar Dam, one of northern India’s most critical multipurpose reservoirs. The plan was developed in alignment with the Dam Safety Act, 2021 and Central Water Commission (CWC) guidelines to strengthen dam safety and downstream disaster preparedness.

The project involved detailed dam-break simulations and inundation mapping to identify potential flood-affected zones under various emergency scenarios. Jomiso also led a series of stakeholder consultations and capacity-building workshops with local authorities and emergency response teams to ensure coordinated preparedness and timely action.

The EAP provides actionable frameworks for early warning, communication protocols, and evacuation planning, enhancing public safety and regulatory compliance across the dam’s command area.
