Design Flood Reviews (India)

Jomiso carried out Design Flood Reviews for three major reservoirs — Ranjit Sagar, Harike, and Hussainiwala Dams — to assess their hydraulic performance and flood-handling capacity under extreme hydrological conditions.

The study was undertaken to ensure compliance with the Dam Safety Act 2021 and Central Water Commission (CWC) guidelines. Advanced hydrological and hydraulic modeling techniques were used to re-evaluate probable maximum flood (PMF) values, spillway adequacy, and structural resilience under updated climate and rainfall datasets.

Jomiso’s review provided key recommendations for operational improvements, safety measures, and structural reinforcements to strengthen the overall resilience of these critical water infrastructures against extreme flood events.
