Dimapur Airport Drainage DPR (India)
Jomiso prepared the
Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of a
modern stormwater drainage system around
Dimapur Airport in Nagaland. The project aimed to
mitigate chronic waterlogging issues that disrupted airport operations
and impacted surrounding communities during heavy rainfall events.
The team conducted detailed hydrological and hydraulic
modelling to understand catchment behavior, stormwater flow
patterns, and critical bottlenecks. Using geospatial and LiDAR-based
terrain analysis, Jomiso proposed a
climate-resilient drainage design ensuring faster water
evacuation, improved connectivity, and long-term sustainability.
The proposed system incorporates nature-based solutions
like retention ponds and vegetated swales along with conventional
engineering components to achieve an integrated approach for
urban flood management. This initiative was
funded by the World Bank under the
National Hydrology Project.
