Ramganga Basin Pollution Risk (India)
Jomiso conducted a comprehensive
pollution risk assessment for the Ramganga Basin,
addressing industrial and accidental pollution threats impacting river
ecosystems and downstream communities. The study identified key
pollution hotspots and evaluated basin-wide environmental vulnerabilities
through scientific modelling and field-based data analysis.
In collaboration with the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG),
Jomiso developed a crisis preparedness and response strategy to
strengthen emergency management systems against chemical and effluent spills.
The approach emphasized the integration of
GIS-based monitoring tools and real-time pollution alerts
for proactive decision-making.
This project, funded by GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit),
contributed to shaping a strategic framework for
sustainable industrial operations and river health protection
in alignment with India’s National River Conservation Plan.
Project Type: Pollution Risk Assessment & Basin Strategy Development
